Electronic Arts celebrated the 2008 UEFA European Football Championship with the launch of UEFA EURO 2008, the only officially licensed videogame of the real-world championship, for PSP and other game consoles.

The fact that this is the second soccer game released by EA this year is also encouraging; hopefully EA fixed any problems found in FIFA.

“We have taken our football engine to another level and added innovative new features to create a videogame that captures and simulates the real-world experience and all the emotion of this tournament,” said lead producer Simon Humber.

The game features the best players of the world and all those official stadiums that will be a part of this year’s UEFA EURO 2008 championship are also included.

UEFA EURO 2008 will feature stunning visual representations of the world’s most famous soccer players, playing in a more accessible, faster paced and responsive version of the market-leading EA SPORTS™ football engine, and all of the teams and official stadiums that will be part of UEFA EURO 2008.

Take on the challenge of leading one of the 53 European national teams to glory as UEFA EURO 2008 recreates all the drama and excitement of the official tournament. You can play as your team from the qualifying stage up to the final stages.

The game various modes will excite and entice you to keep playing: A new mode called Captain Your Country will enable you to put yourself on the pitch, earn the captaincy of your team, and truly inspire your country to glory. You will be able to celebrate your success on-field through user-controlled celebrations that will add to the pageantry and atmosphere of the event.

You can also select an extensive challenge mode where you can try to make your European team the best in the championship by facing and winning various challenges.

In addition, an online mode call Battle of the Nations enables you around the world to lead your country to global supremacy.

Go for the biggest upsets to earn the most points and then watch you and your country move up the leader boards. Face the challenge and pressure of competing in the championship rounds in the EURO Online Knockout Draw to test your skills against the world’s best.

The game gives you complete control over all the action. Special manual controls let you control the goalkeeper in a one on one situation. UEFA EURO 2008 has crystal clear graphics, which makes the game even more exciting.
